Happy Wheels Level Editor

The browser game and the Steam version both include a level editor. iOS has one too. Android’s is on hold. Press T to test. The community wiki measures the stage at 20,000 by 10,000.

Where to play

Steam’s store text only says “includes level editor.” The numbers I wanted — shape cap, art cap, the default spawn — live on the Fandom editor page, which I am citing as a community measurement. I am not going to pretend Fancy Force published a spec sheet.

Build, test, and save a first course

The following desktop workflow follows the community Level Editor documentation. Start with a small course so that you can test each obstacle before adding another.

Edit actionDesktop default (community wiki)
ZoomMouse wheel, + or -
PanHold Space and drag
Delete selected objectBackspace
Rotate selected objectZ / X; Shift increases the step
Copy / pasteC / V
Undo / redoCtrl+Z / Ctrl+Y

Limits the wiki records

A blue wall rings the stage. You always start with a character. The default is Wheelchair Guy at coordinates (300, 5100). The shape cap is 900 and the art cap is 10,000. The smallest polygon triangle is 2 by 2. The shape tool’s smallest circle is 5 by 5, and its largest rectangle is 5,000 by 5,000.

Publishing, Steam, and phones

Steam patch 1.99.1 replaced the “Publish your first level” achievement with “Complete 10 Editor Playtests,” specifically to stop people flooding the browser with achievement bait. On iOS you can share a .happywheels file by mail or iMessage. Android does not offer the editor while it is on hold. I am not repeating the wiki’s “one public level per day” claim, because I could not find that sentence in the official news pages.
